Ruth-Ann Hartney serves as the Executive Director for the PBS Community Foundation. Ruth-Ann previously worked for PBS Consulting & Psychological Resources, P.C. as a Marketing Consultant and Community Development Specialist, working with students and administrators to provide vocational program consultation. Ruth-Ann works as a Job Developer and has helped many self-directed adults secure meaningful employment with businesses and organizations across Long Island. She also maintains a NYS OPWDD Support Broker credential and enjoys supporting self-directed adults in exploring inclusive social, recreational and employment opportunities in their communities.
Ruth-Ann earned a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University and a M.S. in Human Resource Management from Seton Hall University. She worked for many years in the financial services industry for Merrill Lynch, ADP and CitiStreet (formerly a Retirement Services division of CitiGroup) as the Director of Training & Development. She later provided HR consulting services to small businesses and technology tutoring for business owners and professionals.
With this unique blend of education and work experience, Ruth-Ann hopes to further the mission of the PBS Community Foundation by bringing more awareness to Self-Direction and promoting opportunities for inclusion to businesses, organizations, and communities across Long Island.
Ruth-Ann resides in Lindenhurst with her husband and three boys.
